Always passionate about books, writing and just generally all things to do with words, after studying English and Drama at Birmingham University I began a much-loved career in writing and editing and, more than 15 years on, my passion's still as strong.

I enjoyed almost 10 years working for the John Lewis Partnership (JLP) - designing, researching, writing and editing one of their internal magazines. I also spent time as Editor of all branch internal magazines.

​

Prior to JLP, I spent three years working for a trade magazine for the consumer healthcare industry.

​

Since leaving JLP and having children, words have still found their way to the forefront of my life. I spent two years as a Clerk within a primary school, carried out various voluntary copywriting and editorial projects and now, as my children are a little older, I have turned a dream into reality and become a freelance copywriter, proofreader and copy-editor.

 

As a copywriter, I provide a service to individuals and businesses throughout the UK. My work to date includes web content for start-ups as well as blogs, case studies, award entries, social media posts and articles for a PR company on a variety of topics, ranging from healthcare to employability.

As proofreader and copy-editor, I regularly proofread business materials and education books. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) and I follow their Code of Practice.
